  1. These rules are by no means exhaustive. They may be amended, modified or annulled as and when the management feels it necessary for the smooth and effective functioning of the school.Ignorance of these rules is not an excuse for its breach.

  2. Students should arrive at school 15 minutes before the assembly. Soon after the assembly bell, the school gates will be locked and the late come will return home at the risk of the parents/guardians. Participation in the morning assembly is compulsory for all Xavierites.

  3. During Prayer and National Anthem students shall keep absolute silence and maintain a reverential posture. They shall also keep silence and decorum in the class rooms, library, Labs,office and the corridors. Disorderly conduct like shouting, whistling, hooting in the school premises must be avoided.

  4. Students must speak English in the school & school bus.

  5. Students attending the school wear the prescribed uniform, washed and pressed, shoes well cleaned and polished, nails pared and hair trimmed and neatly arranged. They shall also wear the prescribed badges, belt, etc. Habitual sloveliness will not be tolerated and they may be punished even with exclusion from the class.

  6. Wristwatch, CD’s, Camera, iPods’, bangles, rings, ornaments, jewellery, nail polish, mehendi, etc are not allowed in the school.

  7. In case students damage any property of the school by accident or otherwise they will make good the loss. Writing on the walls and furniture and disfiguring them are offences which will be punished with fines. Anyone who notices something damaged should report the matter to the class teacher or Principal.

  8. Participation in games, physical training, cultural activities and socially useful productive works, is compulsory.

  9. To avoid accident and injuries to oneself and to others, no students shall bring razor blades, sharp instruments, explosives and the like into the school.

  10. Besides the text books and the library books, no other books, newspapers, magazines, comics etc are to be brought to the school without the permission of Principal.

  11. The name, class and section of the student should be clearly written on all his/her belongings.

  12. A person is judged by his/her manners. Every student, therefore, shall always greet his/her teachers and elders warmly wherever they meet them, in school or outside.

  13. All students shall cheerfully obey their parents and teachers giving them due respect and regard and shall accept their guidance.Disrespect towards the Principal or teachers will be considered breach of conduct.

  14. Girls will wear a knee length slacks under their uniform. We expect the boys to have a short haircut, decent hairstyle with the hair line well above the shirt collar and a clean shaven face.

  15. Smoking, chewing gum tobacco or pan masala is strictly forbidden in the school premises.

  16. Students who in the opinion of the school authorities repeatedly violates school discipline or whose conduct is not in keeping with the moral tone of the school or engage in anti- school activities or whose activities are detrimental to the objectives of St. Xavier’s English School, are liable to be expelled. Parents will be informed before such action is taken.

  17. Student should not join in any political or communal organization and cannot take part in political and communal activities. They should also absolutely abstain from all activities that are detrimental to the unity and integrity of the nation.

  18. Keeping at par with the road safety rules no student is permitted to bring 2 wheelers to school. Only cycles are permitted.

  19. Every student must look after his/her belongings. It is not advisable for any student to have large amount of money or other valuable articles with him/her. Ornaments or jewellery of any kind are not allowed in the school. The school authorities will not be responsible for money and things lost.

  20. Students are not allowed to receive visitors in the school without the permission of the Principal.

  21. If a student wishes to represent any other institution/body/club etc. at function, or wishes to participate in any tournament / match etc, he/ she must get prior permission from the Principal.

  22. Students should treat others respectfully and are responsible for others good name. Calling nick-names, spreading rumours, use of slang, etc are strictly forbidden, and are liable to strict disciplinary action. Students are to address their teachers and all members of the school with respect and politeness.

  23. Every student is expected to subscribe to small charities if requested by the Principal. However, no fines, funds or collections are to be made in the school without the written permission or notice from the Principal.

  24. Students are strictly forbidden to bring mobile phones and other electronic gadgets to school. If anyone is caught, the value of the gadget will be fined from them.

  25. Students shall not offer gifts or presents to their teachers.

  26. Students are not permitted to enter staff room and any class room other than their own, unless accompanied or permitted by a teacher.

  27. Pupils who travel by the school buses are expected to carry the bus pass, observe strict discipline inside the buses as well as at the bus stops. Those who do not depart themselves in an orderly manner are liable to forfeit their transport facilities. No pupil is allowed to get down at any bus stop other than one indicated in the application form.

  28. Bursting of crackers, irregular attendance, habitual idleness, theft, dishonesty, immoral conduct, insubordination, neglect of homework, disobedience or disrespect towards the members of the staff, truancy, unruly behavior or immoral influence justify dismissal.

  29. Students have to bring the school diary daily to school. Every student must possess an identity card issued by the school. This card must be renewed every year.

  30. Without the written permission from the Principal, pupil will not be allowed to leave the school during school hours.
